This is exciting! I was at Berlin Tegel airport a few weeks ago, about to fly to Croatia to photograph my lovely Colorado friend Amanda's destination wedding (see those photos here). What's the first thing that I – and everyone else! – see when walking through the main terminal? A giant billboard, which I photographed for my ad agency! BER is one of our largest clients, and last October and November we photographed in the studio a series of higher-end products and cuisine that is "conveniently" sold at BER. The selling point is that while the rest of Berlin is closed on Sundays (extremely annoying in my opinion), fear not, late planners! You can fulfill all your shopping needs right there at Tegel Airport. Forgot a birthday or anniversary? Need to purchase a sweater for the chilly plane ride? Need a toothbrush? No problem! Come to Tegel.
Of course, when I excitedly called home to tell my parents about the billboard, they said, "Congrats! Umm... is that a hairdryer? <Pause> Very nice, Honey." So funny. I know this isn't especially sexy – unless you are really excited about pressed shirts and designer watches. But it is my first billboard! And it looked great as a giant poster smack in the middle of the airport. Take a look... not bad, right?
